Red Sox sweep 3-game series with Yankees

The Red Sox have swept the Yankees in this 3-game series as they won yesterday's game by the score of 4-1.

In the bottom of the third inning, the score was 1-0 Yankees. Then David Ortiz hit a sacrifice fly to make it a 1-1 game as Jacoby Ellsbury scored. In the fifth inning the Red Sox added some more runs to enlarge their lead.Ortiz doubled to left field as Jason Varitek scored making it 2-1, and moving Ellsbury to third. Then something you don't see often as Ellsbury steals home against Andy Pettite making it 3-1. Then J.D. Drew hit a ground-rule double to right field scoring Ortiz making it 4-1.

Red Sox starter Justin Masterson pitched 5.1 innings, allowing 6 hits, 1 run, striking out 4 and walking 1. Masterson got the win and is now 2-2. Takashi Saito pitched 1 inning to get the save (2nd save of the season). Yankees starter Andy Pettite pitched 6 innings, allowing 6 hits, 4 runs (3 earned), striking out 6, and walking 4. Pettite got the loss and is now 5-1.
