Red Sox own Rivera again

The score was 4-2 in the 9th inning with Yankees' closer Mariano Rivera, who came into the game in the 8th inning, on the mound to try and close the game for the Yankees. But as we all know the Red Sox have owned maybe the best reliever/closer in the game the past few seasons. With Kevin Youkilis on first base after his single, Jason Bay came up and hit a 2-run home run to tie the game and send it in extra innings. In the 11th inning, Kevin Youkilis hit a walk-off solo home run off of Yankees' Damaso Marte to win the game for the Red Sox.

What a first game of the season between these two teams. Red Sox now with the 1-0 season series lead. You can watch Kevin Youkilis' walk-off home run, Jason Bay's home run, and other videos from this game as well, on MLB.com here.
